In the event of emergencies requiring first aid or basic medical assistance, medical clinics will be available both at the competition venues and at the university halls of residence.
In the event of injuries or emergencies requiring hospital admission, first aid and emergency services will be available at the Gaetano Fucito Hospital (Mercato San Severino) and the San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi D’Aragona Hospital (Salerno).

PHARMACIES NEAR FISCIANO CAMPUS
Municipal Pharmacy of Fisciano Closest to Campus
This is the most convenient pharmacy for participants as it is located practically at the university gates on the main access road.
Distance from Campus: 1-2 minute drive or a 5-minute walk from the main campus entrance.
Aliberti Pharmacy in Lancusi / Fisciano
A very large, modern, and highly-stocked pharmacy. It features an extensive dermocosmetics and personal care department with a wide selection of sunscreens and insect protection.
Distance from Campus: 5-minute drive (located on Via del Centenario).
PHARMACIES NEAR BARONISSI CAMPUS
Pagliara Pharmacy in Baronissi town
Conveniently located right on the main street of Baronissi, making it very easy to reach on foot from the campus or the town center.
Distance from Campus: 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk.
A highly rated, modern pharmacy known for its helpful staff and great selection of over-the-counter medical and skin protection products.
Distance from Campus: 3-minute drive or a 12-minute walk.
CENTRAL PHARMACIES IN SALERNO CITY
“Del Leone” Pharmacy Corso Vittorio Emanuele
Located right in the heart of Salerno on the main pedestrian shopping street (Corso Vittorio Emanuele).
Location: City Center / Main Shopping District.
Distance: Very close to the Salerno Central Train Station.
“Soglia” Pharmacy Piazza XXIV Maggio
A major central pharmacy situated in a lively square connecting the main avenue to local neighborhoods. Notably, it offers extended continuous hours and is open 365 days a year (including Sundays), making it a reliable emergency option.
Location: Piazza XXIV Maggio (Salerno Center).
Distance: A short walk from both the waterfront and the central shopping boulevard.
Farmacia Grimaldi Concordia Square
Perfectly positioned near Piazza Concordia, the city’s main seaside square, ferry terminal, and major parking hub.
Location: Seafront / Transport Hub area
GOOD TO KNOW FOR INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTS
Regular pharmacies (Farmacia) display a glowing green cross outside.
They are typically open Monday to Saturday during standard business hours (usually 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM and 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM). Outside every pharmacy, you will find a sign displaying its opening hours.
Guardia Medica (out-of-hours medical service)
The Guardia Medica guarantees citizens the continuity of healthcare during the hours when the family Doctor and Paediatrician are not available, thus completing the assistance over 24 hours.
The out-of-hours medical service is free.
You should contact the out-of-hours medical service only for illness situations that cannot be postponed until the next day to your attending doctor.
The service is active:
- From 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM every day of the week
- From 10:00 AM on Saturday to 8:00 AM on Monday
- From 10:00 AM on days preceding public holidays to 8:00 AM on the day following the public holiday
