French dominance in badminton. Strasbourg defeats Bordeaux and claims gold

The university team badminton tournament concluded with an all-French derby, as the University of Strasbourg and the University of Bordeaux faced each other in the final. After a commanding performance, Strasbourg emerged victorious with a decisive 3-0 win, securing the continental gold medal.

Strasbourg opened the contest by winning the mixed doubles match in two sets, displaying great composure and control throughout (21-18, 21-16). The second point came in the men’s singles, following the most closely contested match of the day. After losing the opening game (18-21), Strasbourg staged a comeback, taking the next two sets with identical 21-17 scores.

The men’s doubles match provided the final confirmation of Strasbourg’s triumph, sealing the overall result with a convincing 2-0 victory (21-17, 21-17).
