Beach Handball, Padel and Table Tennis tournaments come to an end as medals are awarded

A shower of medals at EUG Salerno 2026. The Table Tennis tournaments at the PalaSele in Eboli, together with the Beach Handball and Padel competitions held in the spectacular setting of the Baronissi Campus – transformed for the occasion into a true open-air arena – have come to an exciting close.

BEACH HANDBALL – The University Campus in Baronissi provided the stage for the thrilling conclusion of the Beach Handball tournaments, attended by a large and enthusiastic crowd. The final day was marked by Hungary’s complete dominance.

In the men’s competition, the all-Hungarian final between the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Hungarian University of Sports Science lived up to expectations. After a closely contested match that was decided only in the shoot-out (third set), the Budapest University of Technology and Economics claimed the gold medal. The University of Salerno finished in fourth place after being defeated by the University of Zagreb in the bronze medal match.

In the women’s tournament, the Károli Gáspár University (Hungary) won the gold medal by defeating the University of Zagreb in the final. The bronze medal went to Spain’s University of Granada, which overcame the University of Porto in the third-place match.

PADEL – At the state-of-the-art venue in Baronissi, inaugurated for the EUG, the final day of a highly attended tournament came to a close. The competition was included in the EUSA Games programme for the very first time. The Spanish delegation dominated the closing day.

In the men’s competition, victory in an all-Spanish final went to Lucas Orduna Dejoz and Jorge Ferre Sainz from the University of Valencia, who defeated Arnau Candelo Casas and Ignasi Carballeira Maranges of the University of Barcelona. The University of Bordeaux claimed the bronze medal after defeating the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences in the third-place match.

In the women’s competition, the gold medal went to Elena De la Rosa Ramos and Ainhoa Garcia Yepes from Pablo de Olavide University. The Spanish pair defeated their compatriots Mariona Sanclemente Moral and Alba Vazquez Gracia of the University of Barcelona 2-0 in the final. The bronze medal was secured by the University of Valencia, which defeated the University of Porto in the third-place match.

TABLE TENNIS – The table tennis tournaments also came to an end, with the Zamojski Academy (Poland) emerging as the standout performer. In the men’s singles event, the Polish university placed three athletes on the podium. The title was won by Szymon Kolasa, who defeated his teammate Jakub Stecyszyn 3-1 in the final.

In the women’s singles, Dora Cosic of the University of Zagreb claimed the gold medal, followed by Agathe Avezou of the University of Paris in second place. The bronze medals were shared by Marta Vukelic (University of Zagreb) and Leili Mostafavi (University of Paris).

Poland also excelled in the men’s doubles, where the Kolasa–Grela pair from the Zamojski Academy won the gold medal by defeating Molnar–Szantosi of the University of Pécs in the final. The bronze medals went to the University of Porto and the Zamojski Academy.

In the women’s doubles, Croatia celebrated victory thanks to Cosic–Vukelic, who defeated Slovenia’s Paulin–Strazar from the University of Ljubljana 3-2 to secure the gold medal. The bronze medals were shared by the University of Porto and the University of Paris.
